Oh what a night! The UK AMAs went down last night at London’s Royal Festival Hall and of course DH! was there to take in all the action and get the latest from all the stars and hopeful nominees!
U.K’s pride and joy Jay Sean was the star of the evening as he took home four awards for Best Album, Best Male Act, Best Urban Act and Best Video! He was handed over the award by Sugababes who also graced the stage and put on a hot performance!
It is safe to say that this year’s UK AMAs were definitely one of the best so far!
The red carpet started with Mumzy Stranger and Preeya Kalidas promoting Kalidas’ new single "Shimmy," which features Mumzy himself. Mumzy stood next to Kalidas while he told us "she is the next Asian female breakthrough artist." Sounds promising!
American Idol's Anoop Desai, Chipmunk, Jaya, Imran Khan and newcomer JK also stopped by to chat to DH!'s Jugtar and Arun and P on the red carpet to talk about their projects and hopes about the event!
Amar was presented with the Best Female Act award as she has been releasing one great video after the other, and now her album "Show It Off" is climbing the charts.
Punjabi sweetheart Miss Pooja, though not present, won the award for Best International Act. We can only assume she is India working on another video or her film.
The rest of the night’s performances by Imran Khan, RDB and others kept the crowd entertained, but the two things that really got everyone hyped were Jay Sean and Sugababes!
Everyone was screaming with excitement when Sugababes hit the stage, performing to one of their original tracks remixed by producer Mentor; a performance brought to you by yours truly DesiHits!
The babes returned to the stage with DH!’s own Arun to present the Best Male Act award to Jay Sean. Jay caught up with us on the red carpet to tell us that he loves to be home with his boys and who can blame him? He walked away with four awards!
What an exciting night for winners and hopefuls alike! Check out our video from the big party last night and share your thoughts!
