Sugababes' Heidi Range Laughs Off Reports She'll Replace Victoria Beckham In Spice Girls

Sugababes’ Heidi Range ‘laughs off’ Spice Girl reports

Heidi Range has taken to Twitter to laugh off rumours that she is set to replace Victoria Beckham in the Spice Girls.
The Sugababes singer had been rumoured to be joining Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton on a forthcoming reunion album and tour, following rumours that the band were planning to get back together without Posh.
However both Bunton and Mel C have now denied the rumours on Twitter – and Range has joined in.
‘None of the Spice Girls would ever or could ever be replaced, nonsense in the papers,’ Bunton said, before Range added: ‘Ahh and there was me all getting ready to be Suga Spice, haha x.’
Mel C, meanwhile, added: ‘It seems there has been some Spice related nonsense written today. None of the Spice Girls would ever or could ever be replaced #justsayin x’.

The stories emerged after a source said the band were keen to continue – but did not think they would be viable as a four-piece.
‘The girls are going it alone without Victoria. They are keen to get back together and were trying to work out if they could do it as a four-piece. I think they know this is the last chance for them to get the band going again,’ the insider said.
‘But the Spice Girls as a foursome is not going to get them another record deal or sell out big venues. They need an extra cherry on the cake. And the cherry on the cake would be if they replaced Victoria.’
The band attended the premiere of the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! last week in the West End, but while Mel B, Mel C, Halliwell and Bunton posed for pictures and sat together, Posh arrived later than the others and sat with husband David Beckham and their three sons during the show.

Sugababes' Heidi Range Laughs Off Reports She'll Replace Victoria Beckham In Spice Girls

It looks like there won't be a girl band mash-up happening anytime soon as Sugababes singer Heidi Range has shot down reports she's set to replace Victoria Beckham for a Spice Girl reunion.
Over the weekend a bizarre report in the Daily Mail suggested Heidi would perform in place of Victoria Beckham on a new album and tour. If that doesn't go to plan, apparently it has also been suggested that Mel B, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton will hold a reality show to try and find a replacement for Posh Spice. A source claimed to the paper:
"The girls are going it alone without Victoria. They are keen to get back together and were trying to work out if they could do it as a four-piece. I think they know this is the last chance for them to get the band going again."
"But the Spice Girls as a foursome is not going to get them another record deal or sell out big venues. They need an extra cherry on the cake. And the cherry on the cake would be if they replaced Victoria. "And that leads to the next question: who do they replace her with? At the moment it's all being done in a very cloak-and-dagger way and not through official channels."
Now Heidi and the spice Girls have taken to twitter to laugh off the rumours. "None of the Spice Girls would ever or could ever be replaced, nonsense in the papers!!!" said Emma Bunton before Heidi replied "Ahh and there was me all getting ready to be Suga Spice, haha x".
Mel C also posted a denial saying: "It seems there has been some Spice related nonsense written today. None of the Spice Girls would ever or could ever be replaced #justsayin x"
Will you miss Victoria if the Spice Girls reform?

Sugababes star Heidi Range has been mooted as a replacement for Victoria Beckham in Spice Girls

If you wannabe new Posh Spice, you'd better get ready for reality TV show: Victoria snubs Spice Girls reunion... sparking hunt for her replacement

  • Girl group set to reunite for album and tour but without Victoria Beckham
  • Sources say the group could hold auditions for a fifth member
  • Sugababes star Heidi Range has been mooted as a replacement
  • Posh kept distance from other members at musical premiere on Tuesday

With their showstopping Olympic appearance and glitzy new West End musical, the Spice Girls are  as hot today as they were in their Nineties heyday.
And now the most successful female group ever are set to re-form for a new album and tour – but without the reluctant Victoria Beckham.
Instead, the remaining four members could hold auditions for a new ‘Posh Spice’ –  through a major TV talent hunt to rival X Factor.

Indeed, spokesmen for Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel Chisholm and Mel Brown either declined to comment or could not be reached for reaction. Beckham’s publicist said: ‘Victoria respects all of the girls and will always support them all personally and professionally.’

Apart: As Ginger Spice clowned around, Victoria Beckham arrived separately with her family
Possible replacement: A source said the four remaining members need 'an extra cherry on the cake'. Sugababes star Heidi Range, left, has been mooted as a possible replacement
Beckham, who has forged a more successful solo career than any of her former colleagues, kept her distance from the rest of the Spice Girls at the first night of their musical Viva Forever! on Tuesday
She arrived late, missing a photoshoot with the rest of the group and delaying curtain-up, then left the after-party earlier than the others.
The reunion plan is being spearheaded by Halliwell, who was  the first to leave the group in  1998, at the height of their fame.  She is understood to have been  performing private showcases for record executives in a bid to drum up interest.
She is said to have compared the planned reunion with Take That’s hugely successful decision to  re-form without Robbie Williams in 2005 (although he later rejoined).
Take That never used a substitute for Williams, but the Spice Girls are considering either a reality TV series to find the ‘new Posh’ – or recruiting a singer with more experience of the music business.

Sugababes star Heidi Range, 29, has been mooted as a possible replacement.
The band source added: ‘At the moment they’re thinking who, out there, who’s been in a another band, could “be” Victoria. There would be interest in a television series, but I think they’re keen on someone with industry experience rather than discovering a new star.’
Sources say the girls will announce plans to re-form within weeks. They split in 2000, after releasing their farewell studio album Forever, but reunited for a world tour in 2007, which netted them £10 million each.
The move may also trigger commercial wrangles about whether the remaining band members will be able to use the Spice Girls name without Beckham’s involvement and whether the new fifth member with have the right to use the ‘Posh’ title.
In 2002 Beckham attempted to block Peterborough United FC from registering their long-standing nickname, The Posh, as a trademark.

Separated: While the foursome arrived at the premiere looking happy, Victoria Beckham met fans alone on the red carpet
The star could also be entitled to a slice of any profits from a new Spice Girls tour as co-writer of many of the band’s hits. And she is one of five partners of Spice Girls LLP, which Companies House documents describe as being involved in ‘activities of its members associated with their previous live performances’.
Each of the Spice Girls could make £3 million if the Jennifer Saunders-scripted Viva Forever! becomes a hit. The show – which coincidentally revolves around a TV talent show – received a cold reception from critics, with one describing it as ‘a prize Christmas turkey’, but it has already taken £4 million at the box office.
Interest in the Spice Girls, who formed in 1994 after answering an advert in performers’ newspaper The Stage, will be further heightened by a 90-minute documentary to air on ITV on Christmas Eve, featuring interviews with all five members.
Another band source said of the possible reunion: ‘They all have existing work and family commitments. As you’d expect with the biggest girl band of all time they are always receiving ideas and offers.’

Myleene Klass, Kate Thornton and Heidi go Crazy (Horse) on girls' night out

'Make sure your bar is well stocked': Myleene Klass, Kate Thornton and Heidi go Crazy (Horse) on girls' night out

It's just 10 days until Christmas so all the stars are really getting in the Christmas spirit.
However, it looked like one party venue was particularly raucous on Thursday night as Myleene Klass, Kate Thornton, Heidi Range and Tamzin Outhwaite enjoying a girls' night out with a large gaggle of female pals.
The quartet were joined by a host of TV executives, producers and make-up artists, including Ant McPartlin's wife Lisa at the nude cabaret show Forever Crazy.

Ahead of arriving at the London pop-up of iconic Parisien nude cabaret club Crazy Horse, it looked like the women were in the mood to party hard.
Former X Factor presenter Kate tweeted the venue ahead of time: '18 (women) at the last count! Make sure your bar is well stocked.
Following the show, Kate admitted she had major body envy after watching the professional dancers show off their stunning physiques.
Ready for fun: Sugababes singer Heidi Range (left) wore tight leather-look trousers, while Kate covered up in a coat as she arrived

She tweeted: 'Impressed by your professionalism! On my way home now. What a great night. Off to the gym first thing to feet Crazy Horse fit.'
Former EastEnders actress Tamzin praised the dancers on her Twitter page: 'Right people... in the audience of @ForeverCrazyLdn .you are not watching Shakespeare so show some appreciciation (sic) please! Brill show.'
However, she decided to bow out earlier after some of her pals moved on to Home House in Mayfair.
Cheers! The celebrities were joined by their colleagues in the TV world, including producers and make-up artists

Forever Crazy opened at the pop-up venue on the Southbank in October, and is set to finish this weekend after a sell-out two month run.
Kelly Brook joined the cast of the show for a three-week run last month after begging promoter Harvey Goldsmith to give her a part.

However, unlike her international co-stars - who are classically trained dancers - in the production, Kelly was a lot more covered up.
The 10 Crazy Horse dancers go topless with often miniscule knickers or G-strings protecting their modesty.
While the 10 professionals have been famously selected for their similar breast shape, Kelly stood out with her ample cleavage, which launched her to fame as a glamour model as a teenager.
