New Song: Sugababes – ‘Freedom’ (Full Song)

The latest line-up of the Sugababes assert their ‘Freedom’ on their first original single with new member Jade Ewen.
Due for release on September 19th, the empowering track is also the ladies first offering on new label RCA (Sony Music).
Arguably the group’s last crack at being taken seriously, it begs the question: does the song do what it needs to? The answer awaits after the jump…

While not a patch on some of the Pop classics released under the ‘Sugababes’ moniker, ‘Freedom’ does work on a number of fronts. The first, and perhaps most notable, being that it returns the group to the ‘Britishness’ which has come to be synonymous with their name; a characteristic noticeably absent from their ironically bitter ‘Sweet 7′ project.
Also, in as much as the addition of Jade could prove fatal for the band, she stands head and shoulders above Amelle and Heidi, with soaring adlibs, mobilsed by raw horse-power vocals. Indeed, however this story plays out, it’s vital she gets the recognition she deserves, as there are few this side of the pond in Pop who can do what she does.
The long and short of the matter? ‘Freedom’ is a solid effort. Whether it’ll right the group’s wrongs in the court of public opinion will be interesting to see.

With Lady Gaga, Mick Jagger & more...

Inspired by Rihanna's recent skin flashing during a carnival in her native Barbados, Gigwise has decided to dedicate an entire gallery to those musicians who just love to shock and reveal during their on-stage antics.
From American singers Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Britney Spears, through to British bands The Saturdays, Girls Aloud and Sugababes, it seems as though this lot are certainly not shy when it comes to baring all on stage.
It's not just the girls though. Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto, Ed McFarlane from Friendly Fires and JLS also feature, as well as seasoned pros Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger.
Who have we missed? What have been your favourite and most memorable on-stage moments of flesh flashing? Check out Gigwise's gallery below and let us know what you think.

Sugababes have chosen "Freedom" to introduce to the fans, the single was produced by Thundacatz (Jessie J's "Do It Like A Dude"), this is the single leading from the studio album's eighth group and is expected to be released this in 2011 - After releasing a short through an online ad for Nokia and show 'T4 On The Beach "is today a group of three girls Amelle, Jade and Heidi finally launched the full version of "Freedom". "Freedom" sounds very promising from the extracts and with uncompromising lyrics with harmonies that are perfect but the end is really boring. That initial assessment, but do you think

I like the lights,
When they hit your face,
You're good as blind,
It blackens out your gaze
And we're on fire,
But I'm too caught in you to care

Let's walk away,
Into the night
It's getting late,
But we're right on time,
And I wanna be nameless
For a little while

[Chorus]
So raise your hand,
One fist in the air,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom
For being alive,
Not having a care,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom

Coz tonight, is the night,
That we break the speed of light,
So stand up,
Come alive,
Liberate yourself, coz freedom starts tonight!

Stand up [x7]

I love the night,
The way it covers us,
You're acting shy,

But you're curious,
Let's play with fire,
Coz we're too deep in this to care.

[Chorus]
So raise your hand,
One fist in the air,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom
For being alive,
Not having a care,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom

Stand up [x13]

Freedom!

Tonight's the night we're gonna live our life,
Tonight's the night we're gonna live our life,
Sing,
Freedom (Freedom),
Freedom (Freedom)

Freedom,
Freedom,
So raise your hand,
Freedom,

[Chorus]
So raise your hand,
One fist in the air,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom
For being alive,
Not having a care,
For freedom-dom-dom-dom

YAY! Check out the Sugababes new single

It’s been a while since we heard from the Sugababes so long in fact that we had begun to wonder if they’d ever be making a return. But they’re back now with a new single Freedom and it’s really pretty bloody good.. Heidi, Amelle and Jade (that’s Sugababes mark 748 we’ll have you know) have really made an effort on this track which comes as no surprise as people are tipping to be their last proper chance at a comeback.
Have a listen below and let us know what you think. We think it’s pretty empowering the sort of thing you might stand on top of a mountain and dance too if you were so inclined. Or just in a club. It’s not actually out until September the 19th so that’s plenty of time to listen to it on repeat and learn every word. Natch.

Top pop acts join existing line-up for the event that marks one year to go until the London 2012 Paralympic Games
Sainsbury's today announced the addition of four more top pop acts to the line up for Sainsbury's Super Saturday - the family event taking place on Clapham Common on the 10 September in support of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Pixie Lott, Sugababes, Nicola Roberts and Olly Murs will be joining a hugely popular line up that already features Taio Cruz, The Saturdays and Chipmunk, for the event that marks one year to go until the Paralympic Games and is set to be the ultimate family day out.
Those attending the day-long festival will be able to get into the spirit of things by not only viewing Paralympic sport demonstrations but also trying their hand at select sports on site. Coached by some of the inspiring Team GB Paralympic athletes, such as wheelchair tennis star Louise Hunt and double Paralympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ellie Simmonds, revellers can try their hand at Goal Ball, wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball - with more sports to be announced.
Other fun-filled family activities available on the day include face painting, Zorbing, a bouncy castle, bungee trampolines and an inflatable obstacle course - all included as part of the ticket price.
Pixie Lott commented: "I am so excited to be performing at Sainsbury's Super Saturday. It will be a great way to round off the summer. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the Paralympics' sports stars in action as well."
Sainsbury's want as many people as possible to be able to come down and enjoy the day and has reduced ticket prices as follows - £30 for adults, £20 for children, under 5s go free and a family ticket is available for £90 (covering 2 adults and 2 children).

Sainsbury's, the first stand-alone partner of the London 2012 Paralympic Games is organising the interactive event and music concert - Sainsbury's Super Saturday - which is supported by LOCOG and ParalympicsGB, to help raise awareness of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. All profits from the day-long event will go to the Paralympic Legacy Fund, set up in conjunction with ParalympicsGB to support Paralympic athletes as well as promoting healthier and more active lifestyles for younger people regardless of ability.
