Amelle Berrabah: 'I'll make it to number one before MKS!'

Amelle Berrabah: 'I'll make it to number one before MKS!'

Like a sitcom broom with both its head and its handle repeatedly replaced, the Sugababes march ever on, unslayable, unrepentant.
For those who have been asleep for the entirety of the decade: the Sugababes originally were three spunky girls who sang songs and had Mutya in them and were a mildly popular girlband. Then every single member left and was replaced by someone from Eurovision. Then the original Sugababes ('Sugababes Alpha') came back as MKS, while the new Sugababes ('Sugababes 2: Electric Boogaloo') split up. ARE YOU KEEPING UP AT THE BACK?
Anyway, we spoke to current Sugababe Amelle Berrabah about Sugababes Alpha, Sugababes 2: Electric Boogaloo and MKS, and asked her the chances of either making it to number one in a sort of chart-related battle-to-the-death.
"Ha," she said. "I'm not so sure! But I'd love to go and watch MKS live – they've all got really great voices."
So does that mean MKS and Sugababes could join forces as a sixsome? Well, no – the current Sugababes have no plans to record, but they are still in touch.
"Look," Amelle said. "It's never say never, but we're all doing different things. We're all on the phone to each other all the time asking each other what to wear, so we're still in touch."
