A few years ago, they were most likely to be found writhing around the stage in a variety of skimpy outfits.

But it seems that with the news that have signed a new three-album deal with Sony, the Sugababes are trialling a new, incredibly glamorous appearance.

Amelle Berrabah, Jade Ewen and Heidi Range looked stunning in slinky dresses at the Glamour Women of the Year awards in London last night.

And their outfits were a sharp contrast to outfits they previously favoured, such as skintight hotpants and stomach-baring crop tops.

The girls certainly appeared to be enjoying themselves on their evening out, and Heidi tweeted later in the evening: 'Home from the very glam Glamour Awards, now home on the sofa in my pj's. Nite tweets x'

The Sugababes signed with Sony earlier this month after making the decision to leave former label Island Records.

And a source told the Sunday Mirror that Sony have high hopes for the Sugababes, who have survived an astonishing four line-up changes and have had seven studio albums.

The source said: 'The Sugababes are far from over. Sony are very excited about the new material and are putting a lot of money into the new album.

'Freedom has been picked as the theme tune for a Nokia campaign too. There’s even talk about them going to the States with this record too.'

Freedom is currently being used as the soundtrack for the advert for Nokia's new N8 Pink phone.

And the trio are said to have been working hard with some of the world's hottest producers to ensure their comeback album is more successful than their last record, Sweet 7.
