The original Sugababes have suggested that they will release their new album in autumn.
The group's first lineup - consisting of Keisha Buchanan, Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena - will reportedly release a single in the summer with the record following later in the year.
Donaghy tweeted: "Thanks for your kind words. There will indeed be another record out in the autumn with a single in summer."
While a reunion of the original lineup has yet to be confirmed, each member has tweeted about recording new music together.
Singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé recently announced that she has written a track for the group, whose new name has yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, Heidi Range told Digital Spy earlier this year that the current Sugababes have not split up, but are not concentrating on music at the moment.
Whether it was Sister Sledge, Bananarama or the Spice Girls, it always looked like it was fun being in a girl band. And that was the key to success — it was synchronised sisterhood: a permanent girlie sleepover with added stylists; a bond that no one — not even a boyfriend — could break. What girls really, really want is to be in a girl group.
Taking a similar path to last week’s edition about boy bands (ie with masses of nostalgic clips and interviews nestling among the irritating and irrelevant comic-book sequences), this starts with America — the Supremes, the Crystals and the Ronettes. Then it’s on to the Bangles and the Nolans (inexplicable choices to me) before taking us up to the heady girl power days of the Spice Girls, reality TV creation Girls Aloud and the ever-changing line-up of the Sugababes.
About this programme
The second of three documentaries about life in the music business focuses on that secret sisterhood, the girl group - a heady and combustible mix of talent, ambition and hairspray. Those lifting the lid on a life of girl power, baby love and walking like Egyptians are members of the Spice Girls, Bananarama, Girls Aloud, the Bangles, Sister Sledge, the Ronettes and the Supremes.

Sugababes singer Heidi Range and her ex-fiancee Dave Berry are still ''very good friends'' despite their split.
The couple were due to marry in early 2012 but called time on their eight-year relationship last autumn after growing apart, but the radio-and-TV presenter insists he and Heidi are still close.
When asked if they just drifted apart, he said: ''Yeah, it's just one of those things. But we're very good friends. I'm still supporting 100 per cent (in everything she does). I like to know she's alright.''
The former couple last saw each other at the National Television Awards in London last month and Dave - who co-hosts The Capital Breakfast radio show with George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Lisa Snowdon - admits it was great to see Heidi again.
In an interview with more! magazine, he said: ''We had a drink and a catch-up, which was great because we're both so busy. Then I had to leave early to get a good night's sleep and we went our separate ways.''
Heidi and Dave got engaged during a holiday to India in 2009 and the 'Freak Like Me' singer had even picked out a wedding dress before they broke up.
