Adele, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jay-Z, Jessie J, Ewan McGregor, Tom Ford, Alison Mosshart, and Meg Matthews all watched as the diva took to the stage over an hour later than scheduled.
Other celebs who attended the gig last night included Alexandra Burke, Tinie Tempah, Stella McCartney, Sugababes star Jade Ewen, TOWIE star Maria Fowler, JLS singer JB, Paloma Faith and comedian Steven K Amos.
Glee stars Chris Colfer, Mark Salling and Kevin McHale also turned up as did Beyoncé's mum Tina.
Beyoncé headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival on Sunday night for the first time ever.
Last night, she showed no signs of fatigue and wasted no time launching a storming rendition of Run The World (Girls).
It seemed like she was in the mood to throw out the rule book and told the audience: 'This is the first show where I don't have a set list. I'm just going to come out here and feel the love and do what I want to do.'
Even so, she delivered a highly choreographed, slick production as she took requests from her fans.
Other highlights included a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, where she brought out her backing singers, The Mamas, to harmonise as she indulged in a soft rock moment.
'I didn't have time to play it as Glastonbury,' she explained.
She also performed Work It Out from the Austin Powers soundtrack and finished her set with a spine-tingling rendition of Halo jumping into the crowd to invite fans to sing into the mic.
The special one-off show was to launch her new album 4, which she described as 'the best music I've ever made.'
The show was broadcast live outside Battersea Power Station at the same time.
Beyoncé had reportedly planned to play there initially but had to switch venues after health and safety crew couldn't make a stage safe enough to support 16 musicians.

Beyoncé seemed to favour ballads - who wouldn't with such a great voice? - but it was her now iconic anthem to commitment-phobic men, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), that had the room in uproar.Other highlights included a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, where she brought out her backing singers, The Mamas, to harmonise as she indulged in a soft rock moment.

One track she did perform at the festival was King's Of Leon's Sex On Fire, which she also sung last night, turning the rock hit into the sexiest, sultriest ballad ever. She also performed Work It Out from the Austin Powers soundtrack and finished her set with a spine-tingling rendition of Halo jumping into the crowd to invite fans to sing into the mic.

Jade, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessie J are among an all-star cast at Beyoncé's special one-off
Last updated at 8:46 AM on 28th June 2011
At the weekend she was the star attraction at the UK'S biggest festival, Glastonbury, but last night Beyoncé held a special one-off gig in London for a very select few.
And some of the nation's most famous faces made a beeline for the album showcase which was held at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in west London.
Top-selling artists Jessie J, Adele and Tinie Tempah led the charge for the British, while close friend Gwyneth Paltrow, Jay-Z and some of the cast members of Glee represented the U.S. contingent.

Other stars who appeared at the concert, where Beyoncé showcased songs from her forthcoming album, included Ewan McGregor, Alexandra Burke, Stella McCartney, Sugababes star Jade Ewen, JLS singer JB, Paloma Faith and comedian Steven K Amos.
Gwyneth, 38, wore a loose-fitting blue floral print dress that showed off her great legs - perfect for yesterday's hot weather.
She completed the outfit with a brown leather belt and matching strappy heels.
Most importantly Beyoncé's mother Tina made an appearance, as did her husband Jay-Z.
Jessie J hobbled into the show on a pair of crutches, she picked up a broken foot just before her show at the Summertime Ball in London two weeks ago.
The 23-year-old singer had her hair swept back into a harsh, Victoria Beckham-style do. She wore a garish Versace-esque blazer with a black leotard decorated with coloured gems across the chest.
Alexandra Burke's outfit was equally as colourful, comprised of a dress made with various coloured panels.

The British are coming!: Jessie J and Adele were among Beyoncé's many female admirers
Jade Ewen threw on an unusual floral print dress with leather studded straps across the front. Her shoes were equally obscure, with sheer panelling revealing her feet inside.
Her fellow Sugababes bandmates were absent from the night's proceedings, so Jade flew the flag for the girl group on her own.
Paloma Faith, who is famed for her unusual taste in fashion, didn't disappoint with another outlandish outfit consisting of a sheer cream top with tiled detail, glittering hotpants and an odd-looking furball hat.
Girls allowed: Jade Ewen, Alexandra Burke and Paloma Faith also appeared at the album launch
Star turn out: TOWIE's Maria Fowler, Stella McCartney and Alison Mosshart bolstered the female contingent
Adele kept it typically understated with her long black blazer, matching leggings and a muted multi-coloured top.
Stella McCartney, Kills singer Alison Mosshart, Meg Matthews and TOWIE star Maria Fowler were also on hand to fill the female contingent.
Meanwhile Tinie Tempah and Tom Ford were the main man at the event.

The British rapper cruised into the Shepherd's Bush Empire wearing a smart denim jacket, a white vest, camouflage shorts and a pair of retro white Nike Air Jordan trainers.
Tom Ford oozed star appeal in an ultra smart black suit, white shirt and black sunglasses. The fashion designer invited Beyonce to appear in one of his catwalk shows earlier this year.
Alan Carr, Duncan James, JB from boyband JLS, Ewan McGregor, comedian and Reggie Yates made up the numbers for male stars.
Glee stars Chris Colfer, Mark Salling and Kevin McHale also turned out for the star's amazing show.
Inside the venue there was said to be a problem with seating as Adele and Jessie J were allegedly moved from their front row seats when Jay-Z and Gwyneth Paltrow arrived.
Adele later moved back to the front, while Jessie remained in the back row.
The show itself was a spectacular colourful display with Beyoncé running through tracks from new album 4.
Earlier in the day the singer, who closed Glastonbury with a storming performance on the Pyramid Stage at the weekend, looked none the worse for her onstage exertions as she arrived for a shopping spree today at Harrods in London.
The star was getting in some last minute bits and bobs before yet another gig, hitting Harrods in Knightsbridge in a sunny tangerine-coloured fitted dress.
Queen Bee, who was wearing summery white platform court shoes, was beaming broadly too - perhaps she'd been reading the reviews of her performance last night, which got a resounding thumbs up.
She had also apparently recorded an interview for Piers Morgan's Life Stories during the day, so can't have had much of a lie-in following her incredibly energetic hour-and-a-half long headlining set at Worthy Farm on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, her rap star husband Jay-Z joined the likes of the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge as he sat with the crowds watching Andy Murray beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet in straight sets at Wimbledon today.
The 99 Problems star was cool and casual in the oppressive London heat on what was the hottest day of the year so far in the UK, wearing a crisp military-style shirt and camouflage cropped trousers.
