1st Stop for JADE EWEN and THE SUGABABES News,Photos,Videos, Information and Events Diary. Also Jade Ewen's Favourite blog and is the difinitive record of her music and career.
After Rita seemed to suggest that Jade's career was over (insert RIP gag here), the Sugababes star whipped out her smartphone and gave as good as she got - and then some
As the twenty-third member of the Sugababes (or so it seemed), we'd never really paid much attention to Jade Ewen.
But we certainly sat up and took notice of the Splash! star last night after she seemingly hit back at comments made by Rita Ora on Twitter, writing: "Some manage to sleep their way to success."
Let's recap. In an interview with London's Evening Standard earlier this month, RIP singer Rita reflected on the time she auditioned for Eurovision: Your Country Needs You, the show that Jade eventually went on to win.
"I was 16. Andrew Lloyd Webber was there," she said. "Right from the start I was, like, “What am I doing here?"
"I did my song and walked out. No one knew what to do. They started looking for me, calling my agent.

"Imagine! If I’d stayed, it would probably have been all over for me. At best, I’d be a contestant on that diving show, Splash!"
Just like Jade, then. OUCH.
We should also point out that Reet backhandedly followed up her comment with "I love that show," but it was too late. Eurovision and Splash! star Jade had already taken the bait.
Without actually naming who her tweet was directed at, Jade tweeted: "Easy to mock when you are enjoying success. Eurovision and Splash? Proud of both. Some manage to sleep their way to success some have morals."
TOUCHE!
ITV
This isn't the first time that someone's got angry on Twitter after a run in with Rita.
After their reported year-long relationship came to an end, Rob Kardashian unfollowed Rita on Twitter, and then went on QUITE a rant.
He wrote: "Disgusted a woman could give up her body to more than 20 dudes in less than a year while trying to start a career.
"How can a woman who is so busy trying to start her own career have time to be with so many dudes all while in a relationship?!
"She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together I wonder how many she will sleep with now that we apart?"
Sugababes star Jade Ewen has suggested Rita Ora slept her way to success after the How We Do hitmaker rubbished her career.
Ewen shot to stardom as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Eurovision protégé back in 2009, prior to joining the girl group, and recently starred in Tom Daley’s diving show, Splash!
Ora recently revealed she had no regrets about walking out on Lloyd Webber’s Eurovision show Your Country Needs You!, which Jade went on to win.
Poking fun at Ewen, she told the Evening Standard: ‘If I’d stayed, it would probably have been all over for me. At best, I’d be a contestant on that diving show…?’ Splash!? Yeah, Splash! I love that show.’
And last night Jade took to Twitter to respond to the catty jibe.

Jade Ewen has hit back at Rita Ora on Twitter in sensational style following the singer’s comments about her career, saying: “some people sleep their way to the success, some have morals.”
The row began after Ora seemingly had a dig about Jade in a recent interview.
During said chat the star said she was “glad” she didn’t eventually enter the Eurovision Song Contest in the end, as at 16 she’d initially auditioned for Andrew Lloyd Webber on the show “Eurovision: Your Country Needs You!” but she quit before finding out if she’d made the final cut.
“I was 16. Andrew Lloyd Webber was there. Right from the start I was, like, ‘What am I doing here?’ said Rita.
“I did my song and walked out. No-one knew what to do. They started looking for me, calling my agent.”
“Imagine! If I’d stayed, it would probably have been all over for me. At best, I’d be a contestant on that diving show…?’ Splash!? Yeah, Splash! I love that show.”
As you all know, before Sugababes Jade won “Eurovision: Your Country Needs You!” and went onto sing for the UK at the contest but didn’t win. She then subsequently went on to appear in the Tom Daley fronted reality show ‘Splash!’ recently.
Though Rita didn’t specifically cite Jade’s name, it’s pretty obvious her remarks were aimed at her and it seems as though the Sugababe caught wind of the interview so took to Twitter to say:
“Easy to mock when you are enjoying success. Eurovision and splash? Proud of both Some manage to sleep their way to success some have morals.”
She added: “#justsayin”
One thing’s for sure, Rita certainly isn’t the kind of girl to take this kind of thing lying down so it’s over to her really…
“Hello and howay and welcome to the first meeting of The Unofficial Holly Hagan Club,” says Holly Hagan, banging a gavel and addressing an almost empty room containing only her and Sugababe Jade Ewen. “The first point of order is slagging Rita Ora right off on the Twitter.”
And so Jade Ewen has slagged Rita Ora right off on the Twitter. The former Eurovision singer and current Sugababe has today responded to comments Rita made earlier this week, where she imagined where she would have ended up career-wise had she taken up the chance to represent Britain at Eurovision in 2009.
Ora
“Imagine!” she imagined. “If I’d have stayed, it would probably have been all over for me. At best, I’d be a contestant on that diving show. Splash!? Yeah, Splash! I love that show.” We all love that show, Rita. We all love that show.
But Jade Ewen – who won the Andrew Lloyd-Webber organized star search in 2009 after Rita dropped out and also was in Splash! – has defended her career choices in what the kids are calling a ‘tweet’.
Twoot
“Easy to mock when you are enjoying success,” she said, tweetingly. “Eurovision and splash? Proud of both.”
And then she managed to claim her membership card to The Unofficial Holly Hagan Club with her follow-up: “Some manage to sleep their way to success some have morals.”
It’s not the first time that anyone has questioned Rita’s morals on Twitter. Actually, we’re just checking our spreadsheet, and it’s not even the second time. Rita’s ex- Rob Kardashian tweeted then deleted a very pointed rant about her in the aftermath of their break-up, while head of The Unofficial Holly Hagan Club (Holly Hagan) managed to whip up a full-blown Twitter spat with the star. Who will be next? We don’t know. But we basically can’t wait.

Jade Ewen has hit back at Rita Oraafter the R.I.P. singer appeared to make a dig at her while talking about quittingEurovision in an interview. As we previously reported, Ora seemed to mock Ewen when explaining how she left show Eurovision: Your Country Needs You! at the age of 16, telling the Evening Standard she's glad she walked away from the contest.
Rita stated: "Imagine! If I'd stayed, it would probably have been all over for me. At best, I'd be a contestant on that diving show…?' Splash!? Yeah, Splash! I love that show."
Jade, who represented the UK at Eurovision in 2009 and then appeared on Splash! earlier this year, has since responded to Rita's remarks, stating on Twitter that she's "proud" of her past achievements.
The Sugababes star tweeted: "Easy to mock when you are enjoying success. Eurovision and splash? Proud of both Some manage to sleep their way to success some have morals."
Meow! Rita is yet to comment on Ewen's post.
Sugarbabe (or should that be ex-Sugarbabe? We have no idea if they're still going) Jade Ewen has accused Rita Ora of 'sleeping her way to success' after the singer seemed to mock her role on ITV show Splash!.
In a recent interview with The Evening Standard, Rita spoke about her decision to quit telly show 'Your Country Needs You!'in 2009, which saw singers compete to represent the UK in Eurovision.
"If I’d stayed, it would probably have been all over for me," she said. "At best, I’d be a contestant on that diving show…? Splash!? Yeah, Splash! I love that show."
Not so bad you might think - apart from the fact that Jade went on to win the very same show - and er, appear in Spash!. Awkward.
Clearly taking the comments personally, Jade hit back on Twitter, arguing that she is 'proud' of her achievements.
"Easy to mock when you are enjoying success," she wrote. "Eurovision and splash? Proud of both Some manage to sleep their way to success some have morals [sic]"
WOW. That's quite a hefty allegation there Jadey. Over to Rita.
