Sugababes - “Freedom” Live Premiere

I am slightly obsessed with British girl groups. Sugababes especially. Despite that they have a bit of “Destiny’s Child” syndrome as we may call it stateside in that their line-up changes faster than the judges line-up on US X-Factor — case in point? It took me 10 minutes of searching to find a picture of the current line-up — that’s a long time in Google world.
I digress.
Not too long ago a preview of their single was featured in some Nokia commercial across the pond. It left much to be desired. Let me tell you, though, it was prime marketing because all I kept thinking about was how good was the actual song?
Well — wait no longer — sort of.
The girls decided to premiere their song through a live performance at T4 On The Beach. (I’m relying on some UK Readers to explain this to me — much as I’m still waiting for them to explain Nicola Robert’s use of the word “comedown”)
Take a gander below:

This weekend saw the Sugababes perform new single Freedom at T4 On The Beach in Weston-super-Mare in a sexy trio of white outfits.
The girl band sported virginal designs by Hasan Hejazi - finished with silver accessories and sky-high heels.
Sexy in body-con was Sugababe Heidi Range in a figure-hugging white pencil skirt and crop top, teamed with glittery wedges.
Showing off a little more flesh was Amele Berrabah, whose new slender frame was perfect in a white bodysuit with a flowing open skirt and thigh-high suede boots.
Newest Sugababe Jade Ewen was on trend in a white corset top and hot pants with a see-through net skirt and studded strappy heels.
Was the all-white look a distraction from the Sugababes new song, we wonder?
White hot or white not?

Sugababes have said their new album will be "darker [and] tougher" than their previous material.

The girl band explained they have been "recording a lot" recently and are starting to pick the tracks which will form the LP.

Speaking to
Digital Spy, band member Jade Ewen revealed that the album will follow a similar template to new single 'Freedom', a snippet of which recently appeared in an advert for mobile phone firm Nokia.

"We still haven't signed off on it completely yet, because it's always good to keep recording and we just want to pick the very best," she commented. "'Freedom' is a good idea of the sort of template that we're going with. It's a bit darker, tougher and quite edgy."

Sugababes are now on their fourth incarnation - neither Ewen nor bandmates Heidi Range or Amelle Berrabah were in the original line-up.

Last year, founder member Mutya Buena launched a legal battle with the band over who should own the rights to their name.
