The impending arrival of winter means a change in wardrobe and the departure of summery dresses to be replaced with thick tights and funky jumpers.
But Sugababes star Heidi Range decided to mark the beginning of the new season in a different way, by sporting a darker hair colour.
The 27-year-old singer spent two hours in Liverpool's Zoo Hair salon before emerging with a light brunette colour - a drastic difference from her usual bright blonde.

Heidi may also be experimenting ahead of her wedding to radio and TV presenter Dave Berry, expected to take place later this year.
But regardless of her reasons behind the change, Heidi looked thrilled with her new look and flashed waiting photographers a beaming smile as she left the salon.
Wearing a cute autumnal dress over jeans and black boots, Heidi looked every inch a pop princess in her seasonal and cute outfit.

There was also no sign of any scarring on Heidi's chin following a fall last month which left the singer in hospital.
Heidi slipped in the shower and cracked her chin, before being taken to hospital by fiancé Dave, who was concerned about the amount of blood following the accident.
A source said at the time: 'Heidi had a bad fall and it was scary for a while. Dave took her to hospital.
'She was in shock and it was feared the injuries could be more severe. She was ordered to rest.'

But Heidi looked happy and healthy this afternoon as she left the hair salon with her mother and headed home.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed Heidi will soon be launching a clothing line with Sugababes bandmates Jade Ewen and Amelle Berrabah.
Jade said: 'We're so excited about it. We're keeping it really quiet at the moment, but we're hoping to be able to confirm all of the details soon.
'We've worked hard but we're really happy with it all.'
