After a successful first year as a Sugababe, Jade Ewen is preparing to treat her parents with the best Christmas ever.
But the singer won't be taking things easy this holiday - she'll spend the day taking care of her blind parents.
The pop star admitted she was hoping to treat her parents to Christmas dinner at her new London flat, but was dismayed to find a no dogs rule meant her father Trevor's guide dog Alma wouldn't be allowed.

'I'll just be happy to be celebrating with them for all the sacrifices they've made to enable me to be a singer and achieve my dream. Everything I've asked for has happened.'

As well as her joy at achieving success on a personal level, the money means she is better placed to meet her parent's needs.
Explaining her parents' conditions, Ewen said: 'My dad's completely blind and my mum was always blind in one eye.
'But then she came down with myasthenia gravis, which affects her immune system and muscles. So my sister and I became full-on carers for them because there was no one too look after my dad.
'My parents have done so much to help me with my singing that I wouldn't think of not helping them.'

She said: 'In the past few months, I have felt things have really turned around and I've been accepted.
'I can understand the fans' initial disappointment.'
