The 25-year-old singer beamed as she arrived at London's May Fair hotel, clearly full of the joys of spring.

Heidi Range’s Fiance Cries To Impress Her

TV presenter Dave Berry – who proposed to the Sugababes star earlier this year – tries to show his softer side as he knows it’s something the singer likes.

He said: “I’ve tried to cry more since Heidi absolutely fell in love with Tom Hardy who appears in a Kleenex advert. She loves him in that, so I’ve been trying to force myself to cry to get in on that action. All I do is wave my fingers in front of my eyes to calm myself down.”

Although Dave is happily engaged to Heidi, he is also a fan of another girl band singer – Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts.

He told Attitude magazine: “Nicola Roberts is my favourite member of Girls Aloud. No disrespect to her, she was always the ugly ginger one. Now she’s snuck her way into almost becoming a fashion icon.”

CAMDEN Crawl 2010 is just around the corner and it is already promising to be one of the biggest and best weekends in the music festival calendar.

Now in its fifth year, the award-winning event will arrive in Camden Town during the Bank Holiday weekend of May 1-2.

Once again the Crawl, sponsored by Gaymers, will seek to showcase upcoming talent from the music world while offering an eclectic mix of star-studded performances from the likes of Lostprophets, Calvin Harris, Teenage Fanclub and Sugababes.

Each gig will take place in 40 venues across Camden Town - from the iconic Roundhouse to the Hawley Arms and from the Electric Ballroom to Grand Union.

It won't all be about the music either as comedy, spoken word, live theatre and arts and crafts will also be on offer to revellers.

And for something a bit different - but no less entertaining - there will be a string of daytime activities including interactive events and games such as karaoke, music bingo and a pop quiz.

But at the heart of the Crawl is the music which, as always, will include a hugely exciting line-up.

Rock, heavy metal, rap, folk and dance are among the genres that are represented to please every music fan.

Some of the familiar names signed up to grace the Crawl stages include old-school and more established acts such as Ms Dynamite, Babybird and Cornershop, while new kids on the block like I Blame Coco (fronted by the daughter of Sting and Trudi Styler) and 2009 Mercury Prize winner Speech Debelle will be performing.

Lisa Paulon, organiser of the Camden Crawl, said: "This year the Gaymers Camden Crawl has moved to Saturday and Sunday at the beginning of the May Bank Holiday to allow more people to enjoy the daytime programme of comedy, music, theatre, visual arts, crafts and interactive events during the day.

"This year we're incorporating an outdoor daytime event too. Local community members and residents can enjoy this for free - along with Crawl ticket holders.

"We hope this element brings a good natured festive spirit to Camden Town during the event and a unity amongresidents and visitors in celebration of Camden Town."

The Crawl will take place on May 1 and 2 between 12noon and 4am on both days.

Weekend passes cost £55 and day tickets cost £34.50.

Supplementary tickets for the Roundhouse concerts, which will feature Lostprophets, We Are Scientists and Sugababes including support shows with each are available at £6.50 for pass holders. For more information on tickets and for a full line-up, visit www.thecamdencrawl.co.uk.

SPEAKING of the 80s, there’s a distinctly retro feel to this week’s list from the BBC of the top 10 musical acts of the decade.

The Radio 2 list is based on the amount of airplay on radio and TV and in pubs and shops between 2000 and 2009.

Top of the list, depressingly, is the epitome of 80s emptiness, Madonna, a woman who has made a career as a singer without being able to sing. Now that takes talent.

Queen (number 4) and Elton John (number 7) also had their heydays back in the 80s.

Sixties standards Elvis and the Beatles feature, as do Abba from the 1970s.

The 1990s are represented by Robbie Williams and his former colleagues in Take That.

So, as mathematics fans could tell you, that leaves just two acts from the Noughties who actually made it into the list of the most played bands of the last decade.

The lucky duo are Sugababes – the girl group it’s OK to like – and Coldplay, passable at first, then got very dull.

All in all, the list makes depressing reading. Of the 10 acts featured, I would say that only three – the Beatles, Elvis and Sugababes – are any good. The rest are just varying shades of drivel.

Let’s hope we don’t have to listen to the same old tripe over and over again in the Teenies as we did in the Noughties.

Her outfits are usually sexy and sassy, but yesterday singer Amelle Berrabah made a rare fashion misstep.


The Sugababes star was spotted out in London's Mayfair in a pair of rather unflattering jeans that did her shapely figure no favours.
She teamed her stretch denim - which hugged her curves in all the wrong places - with a slouchy pair of Ugg Cardy boots, a brown leather jacket and a mid-riff baring lacy top.

She was joined by her new boyfriend Tom Benn, a former model who now works in management.
The 25-year-old recently gushed: 'He's absolutely lovely. Tom gets the industry and he gets me - which is a real bonus. He's romantic and he even took me to The Ivy for a Valentine's Day date.
It's Amelle's first serious relationship since her split from long-term boyfriend Freddie Fuller last year.

Of her new love, she says: 'I'm glad I found him.'
While her love life is on track, her career isn't doing quite so well.

The Sugababes, which currently consists of Amelle, Heidi Range and newcomer Jade Ewen, have failed to set the charts alight with their new album, Sweet 7.

It debuted at number 14 in the UK album charts last month but has since failed to make it into the top 10.

Fancy some Frosties with your Scrabble? Now you can spill them all over the board, thanks to Mattel's perverse ruling that proper nouns are no longer disallowed. That's right: Sugababes, Toyota and Clearasil could soon be coming to a Scrabble board near you, if you're the kind of deviant who embraces expedient marketing decisions. Throw out the dictionary! Replace it with Heat magazine! Why confine yourself to the mere 171,476 words in the OED?

"We believe that people who are already fans of the game will enjoy the changes," fibbed a Mattel spokesperson, fully aware of the wrath and welcome publicity that would ensue. "They will also enable younger players and families to get involved." Are these demographics allergic to uncapitalised words? Are they so in thrall to brands that they need to incorporate them into every second of their leisure time?

But why stop at proper nouns? Surely foreign words should no longer be verboten? If new Scrabble better accommodates the young, just imagine how Euro Scrabble could improve relations avec nos continental neighbours. Txtspk Scrabble would be next, in all languages including Esperanto, swiftly followed by Creative Scrabble, where you make up your own words. Dissent will not be tolerated: innovation can only advance our development, never hinder it. Those of us who claim to prefer the lexical beauty and simplicity of classic Scrabble clearly fear change, and are standing stubbornly in the way of progress.

Picture the feverish scenes in boardrooms across the land as other board games follow suit. A chess spokesperson will state chirpily: "We've decided to do away with pawns. Frankly, they were always getting in the way, and now young people and families can get stuck into the action faster." A backgammon representative will enthuse: "Backgammon now has fluffy circular prongs, as the old spikes tested badly with young focus groups, which felt they were 'aggressive'." Lefties can play Housing Association instead of Monopoly.

Mattel has truly opened Pandora's box and broken the catch. Still, there's a grain of solace left for the millions who will wonder if this is a late April fool, as Mattel conceded: "Obviously some people will want to continue playing the old rules, so we will still be selling a board with the original rules." This will come as a relief to logophiles everywhere: we may scrabble for points, but we will never Scrabble™.
