She has been left black-and-blue following rehearsals for this weekend's show.

But it was actress Emma Samms' ego which was left bruised after she was the latest celebrity to be booted off BBC 1 gymnastics show Tumble.

After a mediocre underwater-themed performance, the former Dynasty star was left at the bottom of the pile with just a score of 23.5 out of 40 from judges Nadia Comăneci, Louis Smith, Sebastian Stellar and Craig Heap.

She was a certain for The Vault - the finale decider on which of the contestants will go home. 

Former Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah was also up for elimination, scoring just half a point more than Emma with her shaky cowgirl routine on the mat.

While the 30-year-old pop star pulled out a half-turn vault and landed perfectly on the mat, Emma kept things simple by frog leaping over the apparatus.

Head Judge Nadia was keeping a close eye on their performances from the side, and deemed Emma's basic stunt 'not very impressive' - before deciding to keep Amelle in the competition.

After being axed, the actress - who has also starred in The Colbys, Doctors and General Hospital - told presenter Alex Jones: 'It's been absolutely fantastic. I'm in better shape than I've ever been, despite the bruises!'

She is the second celebrity to be eliminated, following Loose Women host Andrea McLean's departure last week.

Emma had shown off her war wounds just days before the third episode of the series on Saturday night, and explained that she was shocked BBC bosses had allowed such a dangerous show to go to air.

She explained: ‘It is quite dangerous, I’m actually shocked the BBC are allowed to do this, when we did the aerial hoop, I was six metres in the air, upside down, hands free, no safety line, no safety net, yes, there are big pads at the bottom, but I’m shocked.

‘I don’t know how they were allowed to do it, I’m glad they were, but I’m surprised, especially in this day and age when you imagine everyone is [concerned with] health and safety.’

The episode proved that the extreme stunts were taking their toll on the remaining contestants. 

Former Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins suffered whiplash while trying to pull off an impressive double flip on the trampoline, and had to change his performance at the last minute.

The disappointed star said: 'I've hurt my neck really badly - we are doing the show in three days so that's really set us back.

'I'm so annoyed because I'm going to have to compromise the routine and take out the double back somersault.'

His Beach Boys-style performance, however, pleased the judging panel and he was awarded 29.5 out of 40.

His fellow competitors, boxer Carl Froch, reality star Lucy Mecklenburgh, and former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan, were all on an equal par, garnering the same score for their turns on the trampolines.

Former Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding also battled severe nerves during her practise run and broke down in tears as she struggled to master her routine. 

The night's most impressive performances came from BAFTA-winning CBBC actor Bobby Lockwood and ex-EastEnders castmember John Partridge.

Bobby started off rehearsals badly, having to be pulled aside by his coach after an angry outburst during a practice session for his basketball-themed rhythmic ball routine.

However, the 21-year-old wowed the judges with his slick moves to 5ive's Everybody Get Up, and scored 32 out of 40 - the highest score of the night and of the season so far.

John, a professional West End performer, wasn't far behind, and picked up an impressive 30 for his club-throwing extravaganza to The Clash's Stay or Go.

A nervous John looked surprised by his success, explaining: 'When I get nervous, my palms get sweaty - not the best thing when you're trying to catch clubs.'

The Saturdays performed a medley of their greatest hits towards the end of the programme, and singer Frankie Sandford admitted she can't wait to challenge herself on the new season of Strictly Come Dancing.

She said: 'I can't wait, I'm so excited. We've [The Saturdays] got a tour and then I start Strictly, so it's going to be really busy.'

Top pop acts join existing line-up for the event that marks one year to go until the London 2012 Paralympic Games
Sainsbury's today announced the addition of four more top pop acts to the line up for Sainsbury's Super Saturday - the family event taking place on Clapham Common on the 10 September in support of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Pixie Lott, Sugababes, Nicola Roberts and Olly Murs will be joining a hugely popular line up that already features Taio Cruz, The Saturdays and Chipmunk, for the event that marks one year to go until the Paralympic Games and is set to be the ultimate family day out.
Those attending the day-long festival will be able to get into the spirit of things by not only viewing Paralympic sport demonstrations but also trying their hand at select sports on site. Coached by some of the inspiring Team GB Paralympic athletes, such as wheelchair tennis star Louise Hunt and double Paralympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ellie Simmonds, revellers can try their hand at Goal Ball, wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball - with more sports to be announced.
Other fun-filled family activities available on the day include face painting, Zorbing, a bouncy castle, bungee trampolines and an inflatable obstacle course - all included as part of the ticket price.
Pixie Lott commented: "I am so excited to be performing at Sainsbury's Super Saturday. It will be a great way to round off the summer. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the Paralympics' sports stars in action as well."
Sainsbury's want as many people as possible to be able to come down and enjoy the day and has reduced ticket prices as follows - £30 for adults, £20 for children, under 5s go free and a family ticket is available for £90 (covering 2 adults and 2 children).

With the buttons undone to the navel, and a 'wifebeater' white vest underneath, the singer looked about ready to take a look under the bonnet of the nearest car.

Frankie also sported a very deep fake tan as she stepped out at the Wrangler Jeans party with bandmates Una Healy, 27, and Mollie King, 22, to West End club Whisky Mist.

Frankie is well known for her sartorial boldness. She was seen at an event recently in a pair of eyewatering high-cut leather hotpants.
But fortunately her bandmates opted not to join her in the head to toe denim look.

The trio were joined at the club by Sugababes party girl and friend Amelle Berrabah, who wore a pair of tight high-waisted jeans.
Frankie has been recovering from her split from McFly boyfriend Dougie Poynter.

She was forced to take a break from social networking site Twitter after McFly fans posted abusive comments following false claims she had enjoyed a liaison with playboy Calum Best.
Our source told The Mirror: 'Frankie is so upset. She had moved in with Dougie and thought their romance was for keeps.
'She is heart-broken after they split because of work commitments. They are both still friends.'

Meanwhile The Saturdays are to team up with Manchester United for a summer charity fundraiser.
The group, whose hits include Issues, Up and Work, will kick off a pre-match concert at Old Trafford on May 1 to raise money for Sport Relief and the Manchester United Foundation.
The Big Red Day Out will feature music to warm up the crowd before a star studded football match between a Manchester United XI and "The Rivals", featuring a mixture of Manchester United legends and celebrity fans including James Corden, George Lamb, Paddy McGuinness, Tim Lovejoy, Matt Dawson and Jason Manford.

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabbah and Saturdays singer Mollie King were among the thousands who packed the west London venue, HMV Apollo in Hammersmith.

Marvin Humes is currently dating Miss King's bandmate Rochelle Wiseman, 20.

Aston Merrygold is a lucky boy.
The JLS singer celebrated his 22nd birthday in style last night - with the help of girl rival bands Sugababes and The Saturdays.

The girls put aside any competitive streaks and partied with the boys at the Mayfair hotel before moving on the nightblub Alto.


The pop stars may have worn different outfits but they all had one thing in common - showing off their toned legs.

Mollie King, 22, Vanessa White, 20 Rochelle Wiseman, 20, Frankie Sandford, 21, of The Saturdays, piled into a cab and headed for Alto with a friend.
Frankie, sporting a white dress, appeared to have been the victim of a botched fake tan and not even a bright orange bag was enough to detract from her patchy thighs.

Sugababe Amelle Berrabah wore a similar outfit to Frankie while new band member Jade Ewan opted for black.
There was no sign of fellow bandmate Heidi Range though.
The band first formed in 1998 and have undergone four different line-ups since the original trio of Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan.

Now there are no more original members left but Amelle said there will be no more new faces.
She said: 'Nobody will be leaving and we won't be getting anyone new. We've got the perfect lineup. I couldn't ask for a better group of girls. We're like sisters.'
The Saturdays have added their two pennies worth to the debate about the though, saying the girlband should change their name now that none of the original members remain.


'I kind of feel that it's a bit unfair to keep using the Sugababes name if she's not in it. She was the only original member left even though Heidi has been there a long time,' singer Rochelle Wiseman told website Digital Spy.
'You never know what goes on behind the scenes and I don't think we'll ever really get the truth, just what the newspapers say.'
And, asked whether she thinks Sugababes will still be around one year from now, Wiseman cheekily replied: 'Maybe, but they'll probably have three different members!

But she conceeded: 'The new lineup is hot, though. I saw a picture of them and it looks like it's going to be a good video.'
The Saturdays recently released single Ego from second album Wordshaker and were the cover stars of the January issue of men's magazine FHM.
The girls admitted they chose a more conservative look when they first made their assault on the charts.
'We played it safe before because people didn't really know us, but now we're taking more risks,' they said.
