Bollywood biggies to add spark to IPL

AR Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Bipasha Basu, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif — the who’s who of Bollywood are getting ready to shake a leg for the Indian Premier League. While Hrithik and Bipasha will perform at the IPL Grand Finale on April 25, a bevy of stars will add glamour to the first ever IPL Awards Night, to be held on April 23, in Mumbai.

While the organisers tried to keep the line-up a closely guarded secret, HT City learnt that Hrithik will be dancing to songs from his upcoming film Kites, and will also do a choreographed number with Bipasha Basu. “Hrithik’s performance will be really special and will include some of his past hits,” says a source from Cineyug, one of the event management companies organising the event.

Rahman, apart from performing the Oscar-winning hit Jai Ho, will also be seen performing with British pop group Sugababes.Talking about the international stars, besides Sugababes, that are expected at the Grand Finale, an organiser revealed, “Our first choice was the American rapper PitBull, but he refused. The next choice was Black Eyed Peas, who also said no. We also approached Usher, but he asked for too much money.”

The IPL Awards Night will be hosted by SRK and Johar, while Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra will perform. “The IPL Awards is the crowning jewel to recognise the best of this season,” said IPL chairman Lalit Modi.

Players on stage?

If Lalit Modi, has his way, a host of cricketers will also perform at the IPL Awards Night. A source from Cineyug, the event managers, said, “A proper choreographed performance by a team is impossible as the cricketers are busy with matches. However, cricketers Sreesanth, Brett Lee and Chris Gayle are likely to perform live. While Sreesanth will dance to a filmi number, Lee will sing and play the guitar.”

Sugababes eager to perform to their Indian Fans in India

Holy Bollywood, what is this we hear? Has Shahrukh Khan promised to dance naked at the Indian Premier League's closing ceremony on April 25?

The game is set to take place at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday April 25 and apparently the audience can expect a real treat from SRK! But hold on, not so fast, the "My Name is Khan" actor has only agreed to dance naked if his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, wins!



We bet fans across the globe are rooting for SRK's team after hearing this juicy bit of news! And who wouldn't want to see the King of Bollywood dance naked after winning such an important game? Talk about a performance of a lifetime!

And as if seeing SRK dance naked at the IPL closing ceremony wasn't cool enough, fans are in for a real treat as the sexy and talented ladies of British pop group the Sugababes are set to take the stage to perform some of their hits!

Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen are really ready to dominate the Indian charts with their sweet voices! They are planning a trip to India on April 21 where they will perform at the IPL closing ceremony on April 23 and 25.

The girls told DH! they are eager to put on a show for all their Indian fans:

"We are very excited about performing at such a prestigious event. We very honored to be invited to be part of it. We have always wanted to perform over in India and we are looking forward not only to the performance but experiencing such a wonderful culture."

And who knows? Maybe they'll be joined on stage by a naked Shahrukh Khan who wants to dance? The star told a TV channel that if his team wins, he will dance naked! Well, only time will tell if Shahrukh will keep his promise! All jokes aside, we love SRK's good sense of humor!

Life's still sweet for Babes

Rumours started floating about this week that the SUGABABES were to be dropped by Island Records.

This isn't the case I hear. In fact a source tells me HEIDI RANGE, JADE EWEN and AMELLE BARRABAH will be busier than ever despite a disappointing charting for their latest album Sweet 7. My source reveals: "The girls are off to do promo in India - and have a huge gig out there. Then they'll begin recording new material.

"This isn't the end of them.

"Things may not have worked out with this album, but they are still positive about making things work." Good luck to them.
