Sugababes Amelle Berrabah on drink driving arrest: "I was ashamed"

Amelle Berrabah has spoken about her drink driving arrest as a warning to others ahead of the Christmas season.

The Sugababes singer was pulled over by police back in 2010 on the morning after a night of drinking alcohol with friends.

She was later banned from driving for 14 months and ordered to pay a £2,000 fine after admitting the charges in court.

Appearing on ITV's Daybreak this morning (November 28), Berrabah warned viewers against driving "the day after the night before".

She said: "I got pulled over, literally didn't think anything of it. I felt absolutely fine, honestly. Obviously I'd never leave a bar and get straight into my car - that's just something I would never do - and yes, I was just slightly over [the limit] but that's not the point. I was over and I have to accept the consequences.

"It didn't even cross my mind [that I might still be over the limit]. It was just a horrible feeling, even when they said, 'Yes, you're over.'

"[It was] just the shame of it and that something could actually happen, and I think so many people don't actually realise that this probably happens every day to so many people."

Berrabah added that the shame of being found out should deter others from doing the same thing, saying that people knowing about what she had done felt "horrible".

"Imagine having an accident... it could be potentially very fatal and bad," she warned.

Berrabah's Sugababes bandmate Jade Ewen told Digital Spy earlier this year that the group were effectively over.

Can You Cook in Heels Like Heidi Range?

The 8th season of Celebrity MasterChef UK aired on July 31 and one of the contestants, Sugababe’s Heidi Range, talked about her experience with cooking and being on Celebrity MasterChef Season 8 in an interview with John Stapleton and Helen Fospero on ITV’s Daybreak that morning.

Heidi looked great in a white dress paired with some fabulous high heels — Chrisitan Louboutin “No Barre” mary jane peep-toe pumps. She was spotted outside the ITV studios, shielding herself from the rain with a large umbrella.

Since Heidi walked effortlessly in heels even in the rain, we wondered if she would wear them in the kitchen, too. She is used to performing and dancing in heels, so our guess was she’d have no trouble cooking in heels, too.

We checked out the first episode of Celebrity MasterChef UK, and we were right! Heidi did wear heels to the MasterChef kitchen and had no trouble cooking in them. Can you cook in heels as easily as she can?

And the Sugababes beauty will also turn up the heat tonight as she steps into the Celebrity Masterchef kitchen.

The 30-year-old hit the ITV studios this morning for an appearance on Daybreak, beaming in her polka dot dress and Christian Louboutin skyscrapers.

Already a reality TV connoisseur, having competed on Dancing On Ice, Heidi will battle the likes of Janet Street Porter, Jo Wood, and Katy Brand in the foodie series.

Speaking of her penchant for cooking, the Liverpudlian told Sunday Brunch: "My favourite thing to do on a day off is get a recipe book out and try something new.

"I really enjoy cooking, but it's completely different on Masterchef to being at home.

"The cameras are so close to you, and you can't refer to a book, or phone your mum.

"You tend to lose common sense when you're in that situation. Afterwards you think, 'Oh, I would've done that!'"

She also revealed that host Gregg Wallace is "like a comedian", telling lots of bad gags on and off set.

Heidi added: "I'm quite OCD and organised, John Torode said to me at one point when I was peeling carrots, 'You're not filing your nails.'"

Celebrity Masterchef starts tonight at 8pm on BBC1.

The sun might have been replaced by rain clouds, but Heidi Range isn't ready to give up on summer just yet.

Wearing a short white sundress and towering stilettos, the Sugababe posed for photos as she headed into the ITV studios on Tuesday.

Looking bright and breezy, the 30-year-old showed off her glowing tan as she chatted about her forthcoming appearance on the new series of Celebrity MasterChef.

Despite the fact that it was raining, the singer seemed in great spirits as she arrived at the London studios, carrying a large umbrella.

But Heidi was certainly dressed more for the blazing heat than for the grim conditions, going bare-legged as she fought her way through the puddles.

And it looked like she'd been making the most of the heat wave, sporting a natural-looking tan, offset by the bright white of her zip-up dress.

She wore her trademark blonde hair in a side plait and kept her make-up minimal, posing with one hand on her hip.

Sitting on the Daybreak sofa, Heidi spoke about her prowess in the kitchen which will be showcased on Celebrity MasterChef, airing on Wednesday night.

'I'm alright when I'm at home, but when I got in there it was slightly different,' she said, admitting that her culinary skills weren't quite up to scratch.

'You can't phone up your mum and there's a time constraint - you haven't got time to have a glass of wine,' she added.

The singer, who starred on Dancing On Ice last year, admitted that she loved a new challenge and relished the opportunity to learn new thing.

'I don't know why I do it to myself, but it's about learning something new,' she said. 'It's not about your personal life, it's more about learning skills.'

And it seems that Heidi will have a lot on her plate in the next year, as she's joining the cast of new touring musical Happy Days in January, as well as recording new material with Sugababes.

'I start on the tour in January. I'm playing The Fonz's love interest,' she said of the show. 'I've not met Henry Winkler yet but he is creative consultant for the show.'
