Thursday 18 August 2011
Sainsbury's Super Saturday will not only be showcasing the talents of star athletes and performers, but will also allow festival attendees to get in on their own slice of the action, with many a sporting hero on hand to guide visitors through games of Goal Ball, wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball.
To buy tickets for the family-friendly event, taking place at Clapham Common on September 10, check out the official event page. All profits from the day-long event will go to the Paralympic Legacy Fund, set up in conjunction with ParalympicsGB to support Paralympic athletes as well as promoting healthier and more active lifestyles for younger people regardless of ability.

As an official partner of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, we’re throwing a big celebration to mark one year to go until London 2012. Bringing together some of the UK’s biggest music acts and Paralympic sport, this is a unique family festival that is not to be missed.
On Saturday 10th September, 11am-9pm, Clapham Common will be the place for an action packed day of family fun – with live music from some of today’s most exciting pop acts, the chance to try out Paralympic sports and the opportunity to meet our London 2012 hopefuls, there will be something to keep everyone entertained.
With tickets at £30 for adults*, £20 for kids** (kids 5 and under go free!) and a family ticket for £90***, the day is great value.
We’ve secured some of the UK’s biggest acts to help us celebrate in style. Don't miss out on seeing The Saturdays, Dappy, Olly Murs, Pixie Lott, the Sugababes, Taio Cruz, Nicola Roberts, Chipmunk, Will Young and The Wanted perform. Be sure to check out our Facebook page for event updates as they happen.
As well as top music acts, our top Paralympic athletes will be joining us at Super Saturday. Paralympic Gold Medallists Ellie Simmonds, MBE, (Swimming) and David Smith (Boccia), will be joined by European Championship Gold Medallist, Georgina Bullen (Goalball), to demonstrate their skills - and if you’re feeling inspired, we’ve created special areas for you to try a Paralympic sport and get into the London 2012 spirit!
We have an amazing array of activities to experience as you make your way around Clapham Common, including a bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course and slide, face painting, arts & crafts area, zorbing, bungee trampolines, inflatable sticky wall and a photo wall to capture some magic moments****. What a day!
