SUGARBABES SIGN SONY DEAL - Daily Star

SUGARBABES SIGN SONY DEAL

DAILY STAR SUNDAY
ABOVE: The Sugarbabes signed a new record deal with Sony
5th June 2011

By James Ingham

THE Sugababes have proved they are the UK’s most indestructible girl group once more by signing a new record deal with Sony.

After seven studio albums and four line-up changes I’m told the threesome were given the push from Island Records last month.

But thankfully the rival label snapped up Amelle, Heidi and Jade quicker than you could say Push The Button.

My source told me: “The group has sold nearly four million albums in the UK alone but the label thought it was time to call time on the group after the disastrous sales of last album Sweet 7.”

The story was slightly different from the Sugababes’ camp who claim the group decided to part ways by mutual agreement.

Not convinced myself, but either way I’m just happy the girls are back with new single Freedom. They can still show The Saturdays a thing or two about music.
