JCPenney's Girl Power 'Anthem' Sounds a Little Familiar
By Kiran Aditham on Apr 01, 2010 01:49 PMA tipster informed us that Saatchi & Saatchi's new spot for JCPenney called "Anthem" rips off Mother London's ad for Boots from 2007. Like the case presented in the Kia Super Bowl ad suit, music seems to be the key link between the two here as the same song, "Here Comes the Girls", is used in both. Still, we much prefer Ernie K-Doe's soulful version in the British advert (which is far better overall) than the poppier one sung by Sugababes in the JCPenney spot, which is below.
