NST Music Makers ~ Sweet 7 Review

Get it and sing happy! SUGABABES Sweet 7 (Universal Music) I DON’T know the members of this British pop girl band these days, but I guess it doesn’t matter because the music from the group sounds pretty generic. Danceable pop.

Mindless electro beats.

Lyrics oozing promises of sex.

It’s all found in this seventh album from this chameleon girl band whose brand has been around for a decade.

Amazing, isn’t it? The sleeve notes state that Sugababes now comprises Heidi Range, Amelie Berrabah and Jade Ewen.

The songs are all radio-friendly. Of the 11 tracks, Wear My Kiss is the most memorable for its use of the vocoder and the chorus: “You wanna wear my kiss/All over your body/Once you try it on, you can’t live without it.” Standouts include the sweet bubblegum pop of Sweet & Amazing and the ballad Little Miss Perfect.

While nothing from Sweet 7 reach the mashup fun of Freak Like Me, not even Sean Kingston of You’re Beautiful Girl fame on Miss Everything, the tracks are club bangers, especially She’s A Mess.

The album is great for electro-pop fans.
