Video: Mentor's DH! Remix of the Sugababes' 'About a Girl'

 

 

The UK Asian Music Awards went down in London earlier in March and DH! made sure the evening sizzled to the max by presenting the girls from the Sugababes who performed and handed out an award to Jay Sean.
Everyone was screaming with excitement when the sexy ladies hit the stage, performing their track "About a Girl" remixed by Urban Desi producer Mentor.
DH! even hooked the babes up with a few Dhol players from Drumline Entertainment to add some Desi flavor to the show that was truly spectacular!
And now the music video to the hot Desified remix is out!

The Sugababes continue to be one of Britain's most exciting and dynamic bands. With an amazing mix of genius songs, pure talent and total drama, they have constantly surprised, transformed and entertained.
With over seven million albums and three million singles sold, they have also amassed more Top 10 singles than the Spice Girls, All Saints or Destiny's Child, just to name a few.  With three triple-platinum albums, numerous sold out tours and number one hits in over 15 countries, they have consistently stayed at the top of the game.

And now they are ready to take over the Indian market as they are set to head out to India on April 21 to perform at the IPL closing ceremony on April 23 and 25. The girls told DH! they are eager to put on a show for all their Indian fans:
"We are very excited about performing at such a prestigious event. We very honored to be invited to be part of it. We have always wanted to perform over in India and we are looking forward not only to the performance but experiencing such a wonderful culture."
Looks like Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen are ready to dominate India!
Mentor has been an established producer and remixer whose past credits include Timbaland and Magoo, Craig David, Jay Sean, Juggy D, AG Dolla, Nitin Sawhney, Veronica and Jon B. Known for his hard-hitting and culturally diverse beats, Mentor was the founder of number 1 selling group the Mentor Kolektiv and produced the critically acclaimed album "Broke."
The producer told DH! he was excited to work on this project:
"My vision for this remix sees the Sugababes conquering the South Asian subcontinent.  They're a great girl band that has dominated the European market, and this remix will be their introduction to Asian music lovers around the world. It's a Desi twist on the original track. I stripped down the drums and instruments and rebuilt the track with the view to make it really groove - Desi style!"
"I also hope it will appeal to non Asians and make them see the Sugababes in a different light.  The original track was one of my favorite Sugababes tunes and I relished the opportunity to work on it.  Big thanks to DesiHits.com for hooking up the project," he added.

The newest Sugababe Jade Ewen obeyed the ‘fabulous’ dress code instructions for the Sex and The City 2 DVD launch party in London’s West End.
With a tight figure hugging dress and a sexy feather shrug to beat the chill, Jade looks like she could be one of the characters from the hit HBO show turned movie franchise.

However, Jade revealed to us that her own love life is a lot more together than the dramas experienced by Carrie Bradshaw and her friends in SATC.
Jade, who’s been loved up with Eastenders actor Ricky Norwood for over a year, is planning a romantic New Year’s holiday with her man.
She told us she’s hoping to go to a hot destination to chill out after an action packed year. They’re thinking Barbados or another balmy Caribbean location, although waiting to book flights until Jade’s January schedule is finalised.
“The same day I found out I was in the Sugababes, he found out he was in Eastenders,” Jade revealed. “We grew up together in East London and I’ve known him for years and years, so it felt very natural when we got together.”
The sweet Sugababe could give single ladies everywhere lessons in love as she also confessed she’s a matchmaker for lots of her friends.
Just last week she arranged a dinner at Guy Ritchie’s Mayfair pub The Punchbowl, where the newly single Kelly Brook cosied up to cute ex Scotland rugby player, Thom Evans.
And Jade does all this without getting a feather out of place. Look closely and you’ll see that a tip for looking polished throughout the night like Jade is to wear a well-structured dress that won’t crease as a base. Try the Glam by Caprice ruched satin mini dress

Jade braves the freezing temperatures and steals the show

Temperatures might have fallen below zero last night, with snowfall hitting most of the UK, but The Only Way Is Essex girls were still tanned to perfection and sporting tiny dresses.

They appeared to have taken inspiration from the scantily-clad partygoers of Newcastle, who ventured out in the snow on the weekend wearing not very much themselves.

The reality TV stars put on their stilettos and fake bake to celebrate Sex And The City 2 being released on DVD.

ITV’s favourite Essex girls Sam Faiers and Lucy Meck arrived in their colourful concoctions with James ‘Arg’ Argent and his girlfriend Lydia.
They might have looked like they’d just jetted back to the UK from Marbella but their tans were more likely the result of a spray booth.
Glamour girl Sam showed off her bronzed legs in a little black dress, which boasted a mesh front to make the most of her surgically enhanced cleavage.

While Lucy made an impact in a fuchsia sheer dress over black tights and knee-high boots, which will surely grab Mark Wright’s attention.
Club promoter Mark, 23, had been dating Lucy on the reality TV show in-between his on/off long term relationship with Lauren Goodger, while also constantly flirting with lads mag regular Sam.
But surprisingly, Lucy and Sam seem to have become close friends despite competing against each other for Mark’s attention.

Sugababe Jade Ewen joined the Essex cast too for the DVD release party at the Swarovski Crystallized Cosmos and Lounge in London.

And Jade stole the spotlight in a silver knee-length cocktail dress garnished with a pink feathered cape, matching pink Christian Louboutin heels and a Swarovski Crystal bracelet.

She was clearly inspired by a metallic theme and sported charcoal minx nails to match her silver frock.

What snow? There might have been snow in London this morning but last night Lydia went backless (left) and MTV presenter Laura Whitmore (right) went out without a coat too

The only male cast member to join his female co-stars last night though was Arg, who accompanied his girlfriend Lydia.

Platinum blonde Lydia wasn’t letting the below zero temperatures influence her wardrobe choice either and stepped out in a backless silk gown, without a coat.

And MTV presenter Laura Whitmore also braved the cold in a strapless LBD and sheer polka dot blouse.

But we’re sure Sarah Jessica Parker and her Sex And The City co-stars would be proud of their dedication to fashion, despite the freezing forecast.
