Heidi Range: Will Push the Button on Dancing On Ice

HEIDI Range is more nervous than usual about this week's Dancing On Ice after Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean gave her a move that makes her SICK.

The Sugababe will be spun horizontally above partner Andrei Lipanov's head — and she finds it terrifying.

The first time they tried the skyscraper lift, Heidi had to rush off the ice to vomit.
She said: "It is terrifying. We practised it once before and I threw up. Touch wood I won't be sick on his head! I just have to close my eyes."
Medics on Dancing On Ice offer sickness tablets to celebrities with spinning lifts but Heidi is hoping she will be OK without them.
She said: "While I'm in this lift it's terrifying, but it's when you come down the shock of it hits you. Luckily it's at the end of the routine so if I do feel sick I can run off."
There is one part of the dance that suits Heidi — the couple will perform to her band's hit Push The Button.
Tomorrow night's show will see the celebrities learn two solo routines, one for their main dance and another in case they are in the skate-off, so the judges can assess their skating.
For Heidi, it makes the nerves worse.

She said: "It's such a hard week this week. We've all been given a solo sequence to do in our routine and there is a different solo routine for the skate off.
"And I've got two massive lifts and it's been the toughest week so far but we've been putting the hours in and I hope we pull it off.
"It's not about winning the show, it's about staying in to enjoy it for longer. I love the whole experience."
Heidi admitted she's a "real scaredy cat" and credits partner Andrei with making her feel safe and secure on the ice.
Heidi hated seeing pal Jennifer Ellison slash her head with the blade of her own boot. It gave her a huge shock and made her worry about the risks they are all taking.
She said: "I was terrified after Jennifer's accident, especially when they showed it in slow-motion. She kicked herself in the head and it was really scary and she was shaken up after it.
"It's such a dangerous sport and I'm such a scaredy cat but I'm trying not to think about it."
Apart from popping a rib in training before the show began, Heidi has survived with relatively few injuries — just LOTS of bruises.
She said: "I'm like a bad apple underneath my clothes, I'm black and blue."

And while the bruises are unsightly, Heidi reckons her body is fitter and firmer than it's ever been.
She said: "You're exercising without realising what you're actually doing. You burn more calories skating than you do running so today I've done the same as four hours of running.
"And you do tone up, it's from holding yourself in the lifts, your arms and your stomach.
"You don't realise you're doing all this toning but you are, it's great for you."
Heidi has been showing off her newly honed body in a range of daring outfits.
She said: "I love dressing up. I think there is a lot less of the costumes than the costumes I've worn on the Sugababes!
"But they are beautiful and wonderfully made, the wardrobe department is incredible.
"I'm having a wonderful time."

Dancing On Ice 2012: Heidi Range is ‘really scared’ of revealing sexy costumes

Dancing On Ice 2012: Heidi Range is ‘really scared’ of revealing sexy costumes

Heidi Range has admitted that when she got to try on a few of her Dancing On Ice costumes, before the series started last month, she upped her weekly gym sessions because they were so revealing.
The Sugababes star set Twitter alight, when she performed on the show a few weeks ago wearing a sexy gold pvc catsuit for movie week, but she admitted that when she first set eyes on the figure hugging costume, she was very ‘scared. The blonde beauty told The Mirror:
“It’s nice to know that people like the outfits – I tried on the gold catsuit before Christmas and it really scared me. I genuinely upped my gym sessions and cut down on carbs over Christmas, but I think that was probably the scariest outfit.”
However, Heidi admitted that now she tries to ‘embrace’ the costumes, the sparkles and the fake tan and just get on with performing to the best of her ability. She added:
“I think on this show you’ve just got to embrace the costumes – I don’t know that I’m going to win any votes from them, but I guess some blokes might be tuning in for that kind of thing. I can’t imagine why they would, but then I haven’t got a man’s mind.”
Range recently revealed that she has dropped from a size ten to a size six since starting training for the show and puts the weight loss down to the rigorous rehearsal schedule. However, we’d say her recent heartbreak probably has something to do with it also.

Tickets to see Heidi on Torvill and Dean’s Dancing On Ice 2012 Live Tour

Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice tickets are on sale now!!After wowing more than one million people across the country in previous years with stunning ice performances, skating legends Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean will embark on a sixth live UK tour of Dancing on Ice starting in Newcastle on Friday 13th April 2012.

Torvill & Dean will be joined by Sugababe singer Heidi Range, X Factor singer Chico and reigning Dancing on Ice champion and actor Sam Attwater.

Current reigning Dancing On Ice champion and Ex-EastEnders actor, Sam Attwater displayed some of the most natural ability on the ice in the 2011 ITV1 series and live tour, working hard during each performance to impress the judging panel. Sam consistently pushed himself to achieve higher scores and more complex moves on the ice alongside his skating partner Brianne Delcourt.

Sugababes singer Heidi Range has performed at some of the UK’s biggest music venues and, with skating partner Andrei Lipanov, her winning smile and increasing confidence has gained her high scores on the ITV1 show every Sunday night.

Former X Factor contestant Chico is no stranger to performing in front of millions of people on television and is now proving to be one of the TV audience and judges favourites. Consistently climbing higher up the leader board each week, Chico and his skating partner Jodeyne Higgins have proved that he is as good on the ice, as he is on the stage.
All of the celebrities will be trained and choreographed by Torvill & Dean, who will also perform routines choreographed exclusively for the live tour.

The three-and-a-half week UK tour will travel to arenas in Newcastle, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Birmingham, Liverpool and Glasgow. At each performance the audience can vote for their favourite celebrity skater. Using the same format as the hit ITV1 show, spectators can use their mobile phones to text vote for their favourite celebrity. Audience votes will then be added to scores from the judges to decide the overall celebrity winner. The winning couple then take to the ice for a magical finale performance. As with previous tours, all profits from text voting will go to charity. An impressive £106,475 has been raised to date and has been donated to the Royal London Society For The Blind and Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Skating their way onto the ice at the NIA in Birmingham will be Sugababes’ Heidi Range, X-Factor star Chico and reigning Dancing On Ice champion Sam Attwater.
The tour, which kicks off in Newcastle on April 13, glides into Birmingham from April 27 to 29 and tickets are now available.
As the current series of Dancing On Ice reaches its halfway point, the competition is hotting up with the contestants battling it out to become this year’s ice king or queen.
Ex-Eastenders actor Sam is one of the contestants who have confirmed their place on the 2012 tour and is guaranteed to put on a dazzling display at the NIA, showing off his show winning ice skating skills.
The flamboyant Chico is certain to entertain and as the bookies’ current third-favourite to win, he is guaranteed to put on an impressive performance, alongside Heidi who’s winning smile and increasing confidence has gained her high scores on the ITV1 show every Sunday night.
