Sugababes to headline Cazfest music festival

'Caz' Caroline Johnstone The festival is held in memory of Caroline Johnstone
The Sugababes will headline a music festival this summer, held annually in memory of a Hertfordshire teenager.
Cazfest will take place on Saturday 2 July 2011 at Sworder's Field in Bishops Stortford.
Now in its third year, the event is held in memory of 17-year-old Caroline Johnstone.
Caz, as she was known to her friends, was a student at Bishops Stortford High School and had planned to go to university to study English.
On 6 June 2008, while out with friends at a nightclub she collapsed and, despite the prompt attendance of the medical services, never regained consciousness.
After five days the decision was taken to turn off her life support.
ECG screening Cazfest was established by the teenager's family to raise awareness and fund the heart screening of all sixth form students, initially in the Bishops Stortford area, but then across as much of Hertfordshire and Essex as possible.
"Since Caroline died, we've worked very closely with the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), and have paid for ECG (electrocardiogram) screening for around 350 young people," said Caroline's mother Lesley Johnstone.
Over 3,500 people attended Cazfest 2010, raising over £30,000 for the charity. Organisers hope to attract 5,000 visitors this year and are looking to raise in excess of £50,000.
"The Sugababes are one of the biggest girl bands and we are delighted they will be performing at the festival," said Mrs Johnstone.

Amella Berrabah
Amella Berrabah The Sugababes have been off the radar for a while now but it’s good to see they’re all still talking to each other and there haven’t been any further band sackings. Well, we hope there haven't! There was no sign of longest running band member Heidi, though we're assured she was there for the catch up meeting

They're members of two of the UK's favourite girlbands - and Sugababe Amelle Berrabah and Saturdays star Una Healy certainly looked in tune during an evening on the town in London last night.
The popstars had been on a night out in one of the capital's poshest pubs - Guy Ritchie's Punch Bowl in Mayfair.
And as they left, they matched each other stride for stride with the same beaming smiles on their faces.

Amelle, 26, was wearing the classic colour combo of red and black, with a black T-shirt, red skinny jeans and black pumps.

Una, 29, meanwhile was looking summery in a floaty floral print dress and tan woven leather sandals  Una was letting off steam after another day in the studio with her fellow Saturdays working on the B-side for their new single Notorious.

They've also been working on a brand new album, the follow-up to last year's mini-album Headlines.
They've been working with producers Tim Deal, Carl Falk and hitmaker Rami Yacoub, who's worked his magic for the likes of Britney Spears, most famous on Oops! I Did It Again, Crazy and Baby One More Time.

Yacoub and Falk also teamed up more recently to write and produce The Wanted's hit single Lose My Mind.
The band's new single Notorious meanwhile has been written by Ina Wroldsen, who penned the girls' previous songs Up and Higher, as well as writing tracks for the Pussycat Dolls and Pixie Lott.
Talking about the single and upcoming new album last year, Mollie said: 'We've written tracks with Taio Cruz and quite a few with Alphabeat too, which is really exciting.

'(There's) a song called Ready To Rise and it's quite a cheesy one, but we all love a bit of that sometimes!'
It's all quiet on the Sugababes front however - even the band's website hasn't been updated for a year.
Heidi Range is busy preparing for her wedding to Capital Radio presenter Dave Berry later this year, and Jade Ewen has been posing in her pants as the new face of Ultimo.
