Asian Woman Magazine Comes Under New Management

Asian Woman Magazine Comes Under New Management

The publishing powerhouse that produces renowned international glossies Asian Woman, Asian Bride and its sister titles has been bought out by the Jayson Emerald Media Corporation (JEM Corp).
Managing director of JEM Corp and editor of the publications J Wimal has joined forces with business tycoon Sonit Shringi to purchase the renowned family of publications.

Asian Woman magazine which celebrates its 10th anniversary next year is written and published in the UK and has developed an international following since its launch in 2001. The family of magazines have cornered the affluent British Asian market over the past decade.

The rare combination of an editor turned owner J Wimal, 30 has been with the magazines since joining as features writer in 2006.
After being made editor in 2009 Ms Wimal has been steadily breaking new ground with the titles, including featuring mainstream artists The Sugababes in their first Asian fashion cover shoot.
"The offer of a job at Asian Woman magazine was unexpected and something I initially accepted to ‘broaden my horizons,’" she said.
"I fell in love with the job almost immediately and today Asian Woman magazine has become a part of me and I can’t imagine my life without it. So I bought the company."

Ms Wimal’s business partner, JEM Corp executive director and shareholder Sonit Shringi, 30 said "I was drawn to the opportunity to get on board a world renowned brand which already has a huge following. I'm now looking forward to further expanding on the world-wide reach of our magazines and events."
Having previously owned several acclaimed bar/restaurants, Shringi brings a specialist background in the hospitality and events industry to the brand that also hosts the widely reputed annual Asian Bride Show at Wembley Stadium.

Ownership by JEM Corp marks an exciting new chapter in Asian Woman magazine's story and will bring a financial injection of several million pounds to the title and its sister publications.
Investors say the combination of Ms Wimal’s keen creative acumen and long background with the magazines together with Mr Shringi’s formidable business expertise will prove a force to be reckoned within a flourishing and increasingly competitive industry.

*The Sugababes are not done and dusted by a long shot! New Ultimo model Jade Ewen told me at the Nokia N8 bash: “We’re currently in the studio recording at the minute. This album is more vocally driven and organic. We really want to be all about the voices so are just getting round an acoustic guitar to write the songs at the minute. Speaking as a fan, I loved The Sugababes round the Freak Like Me days where it was all about the vocals. We’ve recorded about 15 tracks so far. There are no big named producers we’re working with at the minute as then we’ll end up sounding like them and everything that’s out there at the minute.
“I’m counting this as my first album as I’ve been there from the beginning and have had just as much input. It will definitely sound a lot different to Sweet 7 as that was current and fitted in to what was around in the charts when it was released.” I can’t wait for some new music -  the Babes are missed!

Happy Halloween Jade

CAUTION..........Be afraid, be VERY AFRAID!

Happy Hallowe'en Boo!

THE Sugababes have been quiet of late, but I can reveal the girls will be back in time for Christmas.

The sexy trio have been busy in the studio working on their next album, with a new single due out by the end of the year.

At the Brylcreem Paste bash newbie Jade Ewen, 22, told me: “We’ve already finished about 15 tracks and this album will showcase us as singers.

“Sweet 7 was relevant to the scene but didn’t make the most of our vocals, so we want to change that.”IT’S A NEW EW
