Jade Ewen: My beauty secrets

Jade Ewen: My beauty secrets

The newest Sugababe, 22, tells us about her best beauty products
COS, Beauty News, Jade Ewen
1 I’ve tried loads of different products to stop my skin going dry when I cleanse and I’ve had problems with each one. The only one that really agrees with me is the Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator, £7.50.

2 I really like Barry M Nail Paints. They have such fab colours – and some are dead-ringers for Chanel varnishes. One of my favourites is Navy, £2.95, a midnight blue that glistens in the light. And you can usually get two for a fiver, which is such a bargain.

3 I can’t live without my MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Girl About Town, £12.50. I wear it with a cherry coloured lip liner, also from MAC.

4 We’ve just brought out three Sugababes fragrances. It wasn’t something I ever expected to be able to do and I loved getting involved with picking the packaging and the ingredients. My favourite is Tempt, £19.99, which smells stronger and sexier than the other two, so it’s perfect for evenings.

5 If I had a choice I’d never wear foundation. I don’t have problem skin and I hate the build-up I get after a few days’ wear. Instead I use Benefit Moonbeam Highlighter, £17.50, on my cheeks and nose to look fresh and awake.

'Sorry' Sugababe Singer Gets Driving Ban

  • 5:22pm UK, Friday October 08, 2010 Adam Arnold, Sky News Online

Amelle Berrabah from the girl band Sugababes has been banned from driving for 14 months after admitting drink-driving.

The singer leaves court after the driving ban was handed down

The singer, 26, was "sorry" for her "exceptionally silly" actions but would find it difficult to use public transport due to media interest, her lawyer said.
James O'Brien also said it would be hard for her to carry out work commitments and charity work for hospitals and cancer research if she was banned from driving.
But District Judge Ian Baker told the pop star: "One can take an awful lot of taxis for the same cost of running such a car for a year."
Berrabah, who was arrested on September 23 at the wheel of her Mercedes, was also fined 2,000 for driving with excess alcohol.
Mr O'Brien had asked for her early guilty plea to be taken into account and pointed out she was not carrying passengers and was not driving erratically.
She was under the impression the alcohol would have passed through her system by the time she took to the wheel early in the morning, according to the lawyer.

Star's lawyers said her actions were 'exceptionally silly'
Emily Maunders, prosecuting, said officers were called at 4am on Thursday September 23 after neighbours reported shouting coming from inside a flat.
Police arrived and spoke to the singer, who said she was waiting for a taxi. The car arrived, the singer got in and the officers left, the court was told.
But just over an hour later, police were sent back to the address after reports that Berrabah was driving away, it was claimed.
Officers spotted the Mercedes heading towards Camden High Street in north London, Ms Maunders said, adding police recognised the singer.
After giving a positive roadside breath test, the pop star, of Wandsworth, south-west London, was arrested and taken to a police station, the court heard.
Ms Maunders said the "lowest evidential reading" was 58mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35mg per 100 ml of breath.
"She is exceptionally sorry for her actions. She realises it was wrong, she realises she has let herself down, and her family" Amelle Berrabah's lawyer James O'Brien
Mr O'Brien, speaking at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in London, said: "She realises this is an exceptionally silly thing to have done.
"She is exceptionally sorry for her actions. She realises it was wrong, she realises she has let herself down, and her family."
He added: "If she were to use public transport she would fear for her own safety and the safety of others."
If she completes a drink-driving rehabilitation programme by the end of June next year, the disqualification period will end on August 25 next year rather than December 8, the judge said.

Katy Brands Sugababes -TV Guide Blog

Katy Brands Sugababes

October 7th, 2010
Comedienne Katy Brand was back on ITV2 last night, with a new series that takes her pop parodies to the next level. Previously, Katy took the mickey out of famous popstars behind their back. Now, she’s doing it to their face and, worse still, with their help! Every week, Katy will join a music act to create a parody video of one of their hits. Last night, it was the Sugababes’ turn.
The show appears to be a sort of half-interview, half-parody affair, with the girls sitting down and having a chat before the brain-storming begins for the video concept. Katy asked all the burning questions and Heidi and her band members opened up about the numerous line-up changes that have threatened the band over the years. Katy’s style of ‘faux-interview’ wasn’t sensational or tabloid, and as a result got honest answers out of the singers. Girly chat done, it was time to think about ideas for the video. They agreed on the idea of ‘growing a Sugababe’ that would become a freak version in a new line-up. The girls were happy to poke fun at themselves in a parody of About a Girl (with a little Push the Button thrown in for good measure).
The video wasn’t as funny as some of the parodies Katy has done, but kudos to the comic who has managed to create a series where she gets to interview celebrities and poke fun at them without getting a black eye. That alone deserves an honourable mention! Next week, it’s Sean Kingston‘s turn and I can’t imagine what she has in store for him! It remains to be seen if she can get bigger names to join her on the show. I look forward to Lady GaGa joining in with this:
