The trio were making an appearance on BBC Breakfast in Manchester just days after new track Flatline failed to break into the UK Top 40 – a potential death knell in the fickle world of pop.
Despite the setback, all three girls – reformed and redefined as MKS – admitted in a post on their official Twitter account that they had risen at the crack of dawn in order to prepare for their promotional slot on the show.

Feeling playful: Keisha Buchanan wears a stylish patterned playsuit for an appearance on BBC Breakfast in Manchester on Wednesday morning
‘Morning tweets! Been up since 5am getting ready for BBC Breakfast :-) Tune in ! Xx,’ they tweeted shortly before taking their seats on the sofa alongside hosts Bill Turnbull and Susanna Reid.
Their efforts had clearly paid off – with Keisha, 28, leading the way in a stylish patterned playsuit, black leather jacket and red peep-toe heels that revealed a distinctive, ice-blue shade of polish on her nails.
Flame-haired Siobhan, 29, also stood out in a stylishly mismatched outfit comprised of patterned jacket and floral print leggings stitched in red, black and lilac hues.
Turning on the style: MKS band-members Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan looked good for an appearance on the BBC on Wednesday morning
It's all behind them now: MKS have vowed to carry on despite their failure to break into the UK Top 40 with debut single Flatline
The look was completed by a pair of distinctive blue heels, while her make-up – reduced to discreet, natural shades – kept the attention firmly fixed on her clothes.
While her two band-mates went for loud prints and playsuits, Mutya, 28, chose a comparatively conventional pair of skinny jeans and dark blue pumps, while a burgundy polka-dot shirt gave her look an added wash of colour.
The three girls – founding members of girl-group Sugababes – reunited in 2011 to record a new album under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

Having enlisted the help of former All Saint Shaznay Lewis, Emeli Sande and talented singer-songwriter Devonte Hynes, much was expected from the band – whose last release together came in 2001.
Hynes – who records under the pseudonym Blood Orange – had previously helped reinvigorate the otherwise flagging career of Solange Knowles, who’s critically acclaimed True EP he co-wrote and produced.
Despite that success, MKS debut Flatline – which he had a hand in writing – limped to number 50 on the UK chart following a week of disappointing sales.
The band has insisted they will persevere with plans to release an album in 2014, with Keisha claiming they still have high expectations.
‘We are taking this seriously. We’d love to break America and do a world tour,’ she told The Daily Star. ‘It’s a new day. We want to concentrate on the future and reclaim what we lost. We are very much back as a group for good.’
Sticking together: The band plan to release their new album in 2014

Original Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan have released a single! Have you heard it? Of course not!
They're back! Hoorah! But have you heard the ex-Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan's new single?
Awww. Mutya Buena we have missed you. Now back with her Sugababe bandmates she looks like the cat who got the disco cream!
Sugababes reunited - Keisha B joins Siobhan at her wedding last year!
Back where they belong - former Sugababes stars Mutya Keisha Siobhan doing what they do best! Er, singing, not having cat fights (though they're pretty good at that too!)
The other Sugababes. Sadly they decided not to take on the old skool for a chart battle to end all chart battles. Boooooo!
When original Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan announced they were set to reform again I was so flaming giddy that I almost popped (which, to be honest, would have been rather messy!)
But with a back catalogue of amazing moodfests like Run For Cover, New Year and the almost jaunty Overload, I couldn't wait to find out what the three original members had to offer us this time round.
So, imagine my excitement when Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Doherty finally released their single Flatline. Er, well I would have been if I'd known it was out.
Normally when a huge band mark their return they pull out all the stops and appear on all the big TV shows and appear in mighty mags like Now!
But it turns out that their 'people' had other ideas and decided they should only appear in niche 'arty' mags.
The result? Their song has (at the time of writing) reached No 50 in the charts! Er....not quite the comeback stat they expected, I'm sure.
That said, their 'people' insist that this is a soft launch and that they will pull out all the stops on the next single. If they get to release one.
I love these pop minxes and was hoping for an explosive return by one of the greatest pop trios since, er, the mighty Big Fun (highpitched 90s boyband for those of you out of the loop!).
Sadly, they will have to look back at their chart history and see a big fat No 50! Shame!
Another thing that left me miffed was the fact that the other Sugababes were so lame not to release a corking single to compete with their rivals. How cool would that have been?
With record sales at an all time low and no one caring about who releases what these days, a chart battle is just what we needed. Just like that Oasis vs Blur battle in the 90s!
Oh well, too late! What is the world coming to?

Sugababes Jade Ewen: 'I almost did X Factor - I had no choice'

Sugababes singer Jade Ewen has admitted to Digital Spy that she considering going on The X Factor as a "struggling artist" - although she also believes the show has "made it difficult for real artists".
The 25-year-old told us at the National Lottery Stars that she felt forced to go down the talent show route when she first started out, and eventually plumped for Eurovision in 2009 over The X Factor.
The 25-year-old told us at the National Lottery Stars that she felt forced to go down the talent show route when she first started out, and eventually plumped for Eurovision in 2009 over The X Factor.
"I feel like [X Factor is] great for the general public, the people who have talent who wouldn't necessarily have a platform to showcase what they could do, but at the same time it's made it difficult for real artists to put out music," she argued.
"I'd be lying if I said that me doing Eurovision wasn't with that in mind. After X Factor all the record label executives were like, 'The music industry has changed and you need a platform'. I wasn't sure if X Factor was the right way of doing it for me personally."
She continued: "You do kind of feel like as a struggling artist that you join them or get left behind. I knew all the record labels execs, I knew all managers, they knew what I was capable of, and still it was like, 'Yeah, we know you can sing, but you need to have an existing fanbase'.
"They don't want to invest money just in case it doesn't work out, and if you come off X Factor where you've got millions watching every week it's guaranteed you're going to sell records. It's just annoying that labels don't put in as much time to develop artists as they used to."
Ewen also told Digital Spy at the event that Sugababes "fizzled out" two years ago.
Talking about her decision to join the band, she explained: "I was just trying to survive. I went from Eurovision to being told I had a solo deal to being told, 'You might be dropped'.
"I'd already had three deals before that and been dropped and it's heartbreaking. I basically thought, 'Alright, I'm going to go for it, see where it takes me'."
National Lottery Stars 2013, which celebrates the difference lottery-funded organisations make to local communities, airs Wednesday, September 11 at 10.30pm on BBC One.

They made their return to the music scene with a bang earlier this year.
And it seems Mutya Keisha Siobhán, formally known as the Sugababes, have also made their mark on the fashion world.
The girl group made sure they took centre stage as they took their seats front row at the PPQ show during London Fashion Week on Friday at Somerset House.
Sitting pretty: Mutya Keisha Siobhán took centre stage at the PPQ show at London Fashion Week at Somerset House on Friday
Sitting pretty Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan showed off their recently acquired sophisticated style.
Siobhán revealed a glimpse of her washboard stomach wearing a Herve Leger catwalk skirt and top.
The beautiful red head, who opted for simple make-up apart from thick eyeliner, completed her look with a pair of Jerome C. Rousseau shoes.
Strike a pose: The group gave the models a run for their money as they posed up ahead of the show
Cool clash: MKS wore a variety of different prints creating an overall cool look with the clash
Mutya kept her famous figure relatively underwraps in a Herve Leger catwalk dress, which featured a slight slit.
With her hair worn poker straight down her shoulders, she added a pair of Jerome C. Rousseau shoes.
Keisha opted for a slightly different look and wore a trouser and top from the PPQ archive.
Girl of the moment: Ellie Goulding (L) looked stunning in black while Bip Ling went for a fun look
Wild thing: Jo Wood looked hot to trot in leopard print trousers featuring a bumble bee print
Up and coming: Actress Amber Anderson (L) wore an eighties inspired look while Delilah hit the high note with her frock
The clashing monochrome print looked effortlessly cool while she added sex appeal with a dash of bright red lipstick.
The singers weren’t the only famous faces to attend the catwalk show and their fellow pop star Ellie Goulding also made sure she turned heads.
Ellie, who is fast become a force to reckoned with on the fashion scene, wore an interesting floor length black dress from the PPQ archive.

The dress showed off her toned arms perfectly and she wore her long blonde hair tousled to one side.
Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife Jo opted for a wilder look and slipped on a pair of leopard print trousers as she too took her seat in the front row.
Adding a touch of A-list to the proceedings was Star Trek actor Chris Pine, who looked dashingly handsome as he arrived.
The actor got caught out slightly in the rain – resulting in his blue bomber jacket being a little rain stained and his hair falling across his face.
Other guests at the show included Amber Anderson, Olivia Grant, Lilah Parsons and Bip Ling.
Caught out: Chris Pine managed to get a little wet as he made his way in, while Ellie Goulding escaped it
Singing in the rain: Jo Wood had fun with her umbrella as she arrived for the show
All in the detail: When Ellie turned around the cut-out detail of her back could be seen
United front: The former Sugababes showed off the intricate detail of their outfits as they turned around
Bright and beautiful: Lilah Parsons (L) looked incredible in her bright outfit, while Olivia Grant also opted for a flash of colour
